Which notebook should i buy?

Hello,

I plan to buy new laptop. I require one with:

Intel pentium M or P4 with HT
512 mb ram,
80 GB HDD,
15" or 17' display( not sure of which one)
No OS is required( or win xp home edition )
price less than 1250$
Good Battery life.
No extra software is needed.


Please suggest any good model. If there are options like easy upgrade from smaller configuration to a bigger one then please suggest me some.

Although it is bundled with additional software, which is probably why the price is higher.

most people buy laptops planning to take it out and use it......remember this when you purchase one if you plan to use it outside a lot..."PICK ONE THAT HAS A LONG BATTERY LIFE!!!!!!!"

the only problem with that one is that it doesnt fit his price range. i think it is listed in euro so that would mean: 1155.75 euro would be $1,497.10. its a pretty good notebook for the price in my opinion.

yes a long battery life is very important. sony vaio has OS included in it. please suggest if there are brands with no software

For long battery life look for a pentium-m (not a pentium4-m or mobile pentium4) and the centrino moniker
