Which of these two processors is better?

Are these two processors fairly equal or is one better than the other? What do you guys recommend?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 QL-62 2x 2,0 GHz
vs.
Core2 Duo T6500 2.1GHz

The main goal is HD films, photo and video editing, and the use of architectural 3D software.

Feel free to recommend other processors as well.

I'm quite sure the Intel would be much better than the AMD.

Neither you can get a Athlon II x2 2.8GHz for $60 at newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...cm_re=Athlon_II_x2_240-_-19-103-688-_-Product. It will be way better then either one of them and is probably cheaper.

You can't always tell by the GHz frequency. It depends on the architecture as well.
But yes, in this case, Intel.

Do you have proof because to my knowledge AMD and Intel are both great quality. The only difference between the two is Intel seems to move ahead faster the AMD. I would never say Intel works better then AMD because I have used them both and quality is equal but Intel usually is a step ahead in performance.

agree with you, I'm using an AMD phenom 9500 and it works great for me, this is its 3rd year of good performance.

Thanks for the replies, everyone! If you don't mind, could you check my other post where I ask about two processors as well as two video cards? They are two systems where one appears to have a better video card, but the other one appears to have a better processor. I'm just not sure which one to go for.

I don't want to have two posts running about the same topic, so here is the link to the post about the two systems. Thanks again for your input. My knowledge of processors and video cards is still a bit weak.
