pretty sure Core2Duo is a better processor than a Centrino 2... the fact that the Centrino has a slightly faster clock speed doesn't necessarily mean it's a faster processor. Other than that these two are identical hardware wise, and ASUS is more reliable in my experience than Gateway.

My vote goes to ASUS.
