which one would be better for battlefield 2

would a 6600 gt 128 mb or a 6800 gt play battlefield 2 in high settings good i would like to try to go as cheap as possible price is 250 for card if needed
 
Well the 6800 GT would paly it better, jsut common sense, but I think the 6600 GT would paly it jsut fine on high, so if price is a factor the 6600GT.

6600GT falls right into that category :) If you overclock it a bit you can probably run it max settings without a hitch (providing you overclock right and dont run into problems)

Yah, its pretty much all software based. You just download the app to overclock it, and it's almost fool proof with the controls. Test it after you overclock it to make sure it's stable, and keep it cool, and you'll be set. This is assuming the card has no defects and is fully functional (which in most cases is true, but sometimes you gotta return cards.)

6600gt wouldnt max the graphics on my friend's pc. but it was mostly medium with some high settings and 4xAA. 6800gt will max it for sure.. the game hogs ram though
 
upgrade to the 7800gt for $50 over the 6800gt... or get the 6600gt. the performance is much better with the 7 series than the 6800gt...

High settings? Then aim for the 16 piped 68GT which fits your budget. :)

I havean XFX 6600GT, and it runs BF2 on high no problem. I would get the 6800GT though, so games like FEAR can be played pretty high.
 
man who brought back this thread. i made it a few months ago. anyways i decided that i am going to build a new computer when am2 comes out and get a videocard with directx 10.
