i think if you have enough money, sure is AMD Athlon 64 4200, that is a good cpu, i can get it only in the dream~~~

go for what you can afford, they are all pretty strong CPU's. I cant see any of them being coupled with a 7800 causing any problems

You do know that you have listed 2 single core and 1 dual core processor here.
The 4200+ is dual core, and would be a good choice to pair up with the 7800 series, but then so would the 4000+.

if money is no object, then go with the 4200+, if it were up to me i'd get a 3800+, much cheaper and the 4200+ and isnt that bad.

For the most part yes you are right but there are a select few cases where the 4000 will outpace the 4200 ... hence my comment that the question is incomplete (i.e., better for what)
