Which processor is better

I am buying a new computer and for the same price i need to know which is better

Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 650 w/HT Technology (3.4GHz,800FSB)
OR
Pentium® D Processor 940 with Dual Core Technology (3.2GHz, 800FSB)

dual core would be your best bet. Hyperthreading will only use "unused" cycles where with dual is essentially 2 processors

Yes, the D 940 is a very good dual core for the intel series. It will beat out the other one very easily.
