Which Processor is worth the money?

OK, here in a few months im going to be building my new pc, and right now i want to know what CPU you think is worth getting

~AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition

or

~Intel Core i7 870 Processor

so let me know what you guys think

In a month Intel will be releasing new Processors, I'd get one of them. The i7 beats the 1090T in all but the most heavily threaded apps. What's your usage of your PC?

well mainly media, and encoding, rendering and stuff like that, and some small gaming, like GTA 4 even though that's not really intensive, but i like the speed and flexibility, if ya know what i mean.

The i7 will still be faster. January the 9th Intel release new CPUs, I wouldn't bother buying one of the above until we see what [the new CPUs] are like

thanks man, it will be about beginning of feb when i start buying, im looking now, and just getting some pricing. and hopefully when intel releases their new cpu, it'll bring down the prices on the lower end i7's , but we'll have to wait and see.

i7 all the way, and like fastdude said wait until early to mid Janurary for the new intel cpu releases and take a look at some of their benchmarks beforing making a purchase. If you don't plan on buying a CPU until Feburary there will be PLENTY of benchmarks at passmark.com to compare them to the current i7's.
