Which setup is better?

The 2nd option is seemingly better to me but it doesn't state it's dual channel or low latency!

Second one's DDR2, so unless your deciding between an AM2 or socket 939 system you can't really compare them.

As 34erd said, you need to make sure that you have the correct RAM for the motherboard. Most boards (with a few exceptions) will only support one or the other.

Secondly, there's really not enough info there. The timings would be helpful. Any links to the RAM?

My guess would be that the PC2-6400 has a CL of either 4 or 5. In either case, the DDR2 sticks would be the better buy.

These are for two different systems. I am asking if the DDR2 is "Supposed" to perform better since it is newer technology and all that jazz.

Sorta like the Celeron and the 64-FX. I know you can't compare them because they are two totally different chips but the 64-FX is obviously the better performing chip is every category.

You cant use DDR2 in a DDR slot and you cant use DDR in a DDR2 slot.

That still doesn't answer my question. If I were to buy a system... looking for a better performing PC. Which direction should I be headed in? Option 1 or Option 2?
