this computer will be used for mid-ranged gaming and alot of dvd burning so which one would be better I plan on replacing the video card and stuff so don't worry about that oh and side tracking a little when will cheaper dx10 cards be coming out.

you might consider building your own, i've always found you can build a faster computer for cheaper if you do it your self. Provided you know what you're doing.

So your price range is around $700?

Between those two, it is a hard choice. While the AMD system has 2GB of memory, the Intel system has a Core 2 Duo. I'd lean towards the 2GB of RAM, and go with the AMD.

In my experience, Gateway is a much better company for computers than HP is. The two systems are probably about equal, maybe a little edge to the AMD. But I'd still go with the Gatway.
