Will a 12.1" sleeve fit my 12.1" laptop or will I need a slightly bigger size?

It should. The size of the sleeve should be the size laptop it holds, not the actual dimensions of the sleeve.

you shouldnt have a problem with that, bring your laptop into the store and have them test fit it for you
