I recently found out that on board sound uses system resources apart from being worse sound quality that was a good reason for me to have a look for a sound card, I'm looking for one that's not hugely expensive, I have been looking at these 2 http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-Xonar-...DOL6/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1341759809&sr=8-6 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asustek-Xon...DM2K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1341763912&sr=8-1, is there any big reason to go for the more expensive one or are there better options out there?

The DG is basically a replacement of onboard with slightly better quality, so if you can afford it, go for the D1

Thanks, is that the DX/Xd pci-e on the second link? as bad as it sounds it will actually be more expensive than my graphics card but I have my computer in 5.1 surround so I figure I might has well try and get half decent sound, I have never bought a sound card before and always settled for on board
