Which temperature reading to trust?

Q9550 Temp

I'm using HWmonitor to monitor my q9550. Are these decent idle temps for a Q9550?

Is it normal for the four processing cores to be hotter than the overall CPU temperature?

Yes. If it's reading what I think it is then the core temperatures are from the sensors in the centre of each core (measures Tjunction) and the CPU temperature is probably the CPU's case temperature.

Believe it or not both temperatures are right.

The Core # reading is the actualy CPU reading... the CPU thing is something else like the ACPI Thermal Zone or something like that

The top one is the motherboard CPU temp. sensor. The bottoms ones are the digital temp sensor on the CPU cores

If thats Idle, there ok. Could be alittle lower. Nothing to worry about. Whats your load temps?
