Which version of Vista... or maybe XP?

Wow, there's at least 3 of us up this late. I accuse insomnia for myself!

Honestly, I'd choose XP (any version) over Vista (any version). But, that's just me. XP has a good track record for the Microsoft Family, and is 'stable' (as far as Windows is concerned) for the time being.

Personally, I'd go with 32-bit with whatever OS you choose, as opposed to 64-bit, but of course, that's entirely up to you.

I agree with imsati, I tried Vista Ultimate on my computer, and I admit it booted quicker, but then most people spend time using their computer after it boots which is where it lacks. I find XP faster running my programs and games than Vista did, so I switched back. I won't be going to Vista until I have no choice. That's my opinion anyway

Yes, I think I will definitely get Linux. But I do want to do some gaming. That narrows it to XP or Vista. Since DX10 is the future of PC games, that leaves just Vista. I would buy XP now then Vista later, but that's just way too much money for virtually the same product.

I would go ahead and get vista if you need to buy it, if you already had XP i would say keep it and get Vista later. To me if your going to be upgrading, why buy something thats already going outdated?

Yeah, that's what I'll probably do. Which version of home premium should I buy? What exactly is the system builders version? And is it worth it to buy OEM? There's so many versions to choose from... it's confusing. I wish they were more like Apple.
