While doing internet searches the computer get stuck on one page?

What causes this , is it a security issue? I do a search thru google , I am using "WEB OF TRUST" and mozilla and I click a link. When I try and hit the back page to get out of the link the current page shows to be in busy mode then flashes and stays on the same page. In the past I noticed that I could click on the back page 2-3 times and it would back me out. Lately that is not so , I search then fallow a link go to backpage and it will not back out of the page , I have to close the tab and start over again. :confused::confused::confused:
I just noticed that if I "slide" the pointer on the back button it will show the history and I can get out to my search page thru there. I guess its changed and I will have to do it that way , thru my internet history.
