White screen

My internet explorer has started acting up recently-I need to disconnect a wire from my broadband box before turning the computer on, otherwise it'll just crash.

I can get by on this though-the big problem I've having is when I click on some sites and all that appears is a white screen. It tells me at the bottom of the page that the site is "Done" loading, but nothing ever appears-and the site appears quicker than usual.

It's rather annoying, especially seeing it's not working for some of my regular sites. Arsenal.com is just one example.

I've found this:

but I'm having a bit of trouble equating this with Windows Me, rather than XP.

Any ideas on what's the matter?

Thanks for any help.

A while ago, when I was running IE and used the open new window function it would not work properly, it did what you described and simply brought up a white screen saying done, after having that problem for about 5 months and not finding a solution I gave up and reinstalled IE and it worked fine, i think the problem may have been the result of a virus

Go to the microsoft website and you can download IE 6 or 7, depending on which OS you use. Or try Firefox, which doesn't have that problem
