Hi, i was wondering where could i send the 9800 Pro to be repaired. Its out of warranty, so i will obiously have to pay..

ANY suggestions appreciated.

Thanks :D

the chances are..

The chances are that noone will be able to repair it. If it died, then it is unlikely that someone could fix it. The only thing I know people do is change the capacitors because they do blow up sometimes.

JAN :D

I don't know if thats the problem. The card just suddenly stoped working. I turned the computer off one night, and turned it on in the moring to find that it stopped working. It has been great up until then for like a year?!

Is it out of ALL warranties, you usually have a manufacturers aswell as extended retailers warranty. Might be worth a check to see if your covered by the store you boguht it from

Cheers dragon, i'll find out.

The card shouldn't be fried as it has never been overclocked, i dont play many games either. It also has an Artic Scilencer, which i bought when i got the card.

Thanks

It could be as simple as a stray hair or something shorted the card out, it doesnt have to realte directly to something you physically did to the card.

Update

Hiya,

i contacted Gigabyte and they came back with this very useful info that could help people in a similar situation . . . .

Hi,

" manufacture warranty "

Goods released from the manufacturer before Jan 2003, 2 years "manufacture warranty" apply; after Jan 2003, 3 years "manufacture warranty" apply.

Serial number determines the " manufacture warranty ", for instance if the current week is week 17 year 2005, the serial number shows before 1st Jan year 2003, it will be out of warranty, we can only take number shows after 1st Jan ( inclusive ) year 2003. e.g: SN0301xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ( week 1 year 2003)

Warranty and RMA issues are normally arranged by your supplier.(No charge is added by Gigabyte) The warrenty terms are dependent on your sale of contract and is what ever your supplier sold you.

Gigabyte have and added (Direct Service) to coincide with the manufactures warranty.

Gigabyte have a manufacturers warrenty which cover (Parts, labour).
For the direct service a small sum of £10.00 (admin charge & Next Day Delivery) we will test your board out and replace any failed parts. If you go via your supplier the cost will be free to you. But be aware some suppliers wait untill they have a specific quantity before they return them back to us. So it could take 4 to 6 weeks. If you want to deal direct with us you must agree to the terms and conditions of RMA and must have access to email.
