Who has an Antec 300?

I know a couple people do, and was wondering on how portable it is? Like how much does it weigh with all you components in it. I have a antec p180b right now and love it, but need something more portable soon and saw this one, and it looks pretty sweet. I know the lian li A05B is smaller but it might be too small and this one looks like the perfect size to bolt a handle on to the top and occasionally lug around.

Just did a build in this for my little brother, and I must say, it is probably one of the best cases you can get sub-50$ new. I picked it up sub-40, and was quite impressed with it.

There's plenty of spots for fans, has a spot on the side for tucking cables, and everything has thumbscrews. It is pretty light. Lighter than most other steel ATX cases I've dealt with. It's about as light as the crappier built steel cases like the XIONs and such, but with far better build quality.

I'm not sure how much abuse the top panel would take with handles attached to it directly, but if you tossed in like a metal plate to spread the force it should do pretty well I would think.

I've built with the Antec 300 before and I have to say that I wasn't too impressed. From the outside it looks like a great case, but due to its weight, the case is quite flimsy and rattles a lot.

As for portability, it's right, but it's still a bit too big for carrying around. If you really want to carry it around, I would suggest mounting some handles on the top of the case. Maybe some recess handles.

Well for the price I was quite impressed with it having paid under 40$ brand new retail. The side panels are going to move around a bit more than other cases but that has to do with the way they attach to the case.

Many cases have the flat panel with pokey things that slide into notches all along the case. These can be difficult and pesky, but do have more points of contact than the 300's system, which while the old system can help with rattles, is also way more difficult in some cases to get attached. The 300 on the other hand you just place the edge of the panel that matches up with the front then it just lays down into place and is secured with thumbscrews. So instead of ~10-12 points of secure contact in a normal case, you get 3, but you also get easier side panel attachment and removal.

I didn't find the rattles overly obtrusive when the thumbscrews are screwed in all the way. In fact, I only noticed the rattles when the screws weren't screwed in properly.

Anyway, just my experience with the case. Cheaper than many other cases and with equal or better build quality than most, with superb airflow and extra fan capabilities.
