Whoo hoo GTX 260 216!

got my evga GTX 260 core 216 in yesterday, and its a big improvement over my 8800gtx :) I threw in crysis: warhead right away, on 1440x900, all enthusiast settings with motion blur off, 16xAA, i get n e where from 18-40fps. not too bad, considering i had to mix my enthusiast and gamer setting with absolutely no aa with my 8800gtx. I plan on getting a 24" monitor soon and another gtx 260 so i can crank it up on that :). Also, using the precision tool, i overclocked it to the XFX black edition speeds with 0 problems, played assassins creed Maxed out 16xQaa 16xaf, for about 2 hours not one hiccup, not one slow down, or artifact.

Specs.

Core - 666MHz
Shader - 1410 MHz
Memory - 1151 MHz

Fan @ 50%

Idle - 39-40C @ 50% Fan / Load - 58-60C @ 50% fan

very happy with this card. cant wait till the second one comes :)

ill play around with the speeds to see if i can get more out of it, im sure i can.

i just purchased mine from tiger direct. it should be at my door in a few das. cant wait to test it on crysis warhead too. im in the process of getting asteam account to get all the new games so i dont have to buy them :)
 
I just got in my eVGA GTX 260 Core 216 Superclock Edition....and WOW! You can overclock the crap out of it and temps are still low. At stock mine idles at about 40c and under full Crysis load it might reach 55c.

I can finally max everything on Crysis and it plays pretty good...definitely playable. It really is a great card. It also came with a free copy of Future Mark Vantage and Far Cry 2 was in the box all for $279:)

The best price: Performance ratio card on the market today hands down.
 
Yeah from what I have read the 260-216 and the gtx 280 are pretty close.I guess the 280 will edge out though if both are Oc'ed due to having 240 proc compared to 216.I dont know how high a percentage over the 260 it would Oc though?

I have to ask though, why play crysis on max settings? Sure it looks amazing, but how can you stand 20 fps? 40 is usually too low for me, I like to keep it above 50 for all my games.
