well.. I have a dell inspiron 1420.. and my hard drive is full so I bought a WD passport external hard drive.. that was like 1 year ago.. but I've dismantle my WD external hard drive and I saw it was a SATA hard drive.. so i tried to replace it with the one is inside the computer.. and i've made it.. and every thing worked perfect.. but in 20 minutes.. my laptop shut off and says it have an internal error.. but i wanted to know if it was possible to fix it.. is there a way to use it like an internal hard drive?

SATA is SATA. Any SATA drive will work in any environment that supports SATA. My guess is that you have an operating system problem possibly related to the mainboard device drivers.
