Why do my pics shut down my computer?

I just finished building my comp and everytime i try and add a pic to it. It shuts itself down. Can anyone tell me why it's doing that?
 
is it only doing it when your trying to add pictures? what program are you using, does it only crash doing this activity?

Sounds odd, what are your specs and is it fine if you play games or something stressful?
 
I've not played games on it yet, but i try and add them to the comp from my flash drive. It works fine to the point off me trying to add it as a background, i can't even open it. it very peculiar.
 
Well I finally found out it' thes resolution of my screen, so my pic cannot match the screens resoluion. Is there anyway to fix this problem?
Please, help me?
