Why does my burner work so SLOW

I want to burn photos onto a DVD or CD. These files are on my harddrive now. It just seems to take forever to write these files to the disks. So my question is.....is it the speed of my computor or the speed rating of my burner or the software that I'm using to copy them with????? Even after getting a disk to burn correctly...if I try to view them, it seems like the drive will not even read them very fast.

Any ideas???

You can speed up the burn in your program but the longer it takes the better quality.

The best advice that can be given.

so what is the reason you are burning them for? you might be able to sacrifice the higher end quality for the speed. it just depends on what you are using it for i guess.
