Why Does my computer destroy DVD-roms

OK heres whats happening we just got a new dvd rom on warrenty from dell because are old one just stopped playing DVD's, it plays CD;s but not dvds anymore it doesnt make anysence. So we got our new one now once again it wont play dvds! wat the hell is going on! It still playing CD's Just not DVD's :mad: Someone please help! :confused:
 
It won't play movies from DVDs or it won't recognize DVDs at all? What happens if there's a DVD-disk in the drive and you access the DVD-drive with Windows Explorer?
 
1. Check ASPI
2. If you're interested in playing DVDVideo then make sure you have a dvd player installed
