Why does my PC not boot from floppy?

I have formatted a floppy disk to boot from floppy when I restart my PC but for some reason it boots straight from my hard drive even though the floppy disk is definately pushed right in.

Any ideas what might be the problem?

Did you set in BIOS the boot order?

Bios Boot Order

Try going into bios and changing the boot order. To find the boot order, just look around in bios. It should be easy to find.

To get to bios, hold delete when your computer boots. If delete doesn't work, look for what to press when your computer starts. (It would say push ** to get into setup/bios)

The reason I need to boot from floppy is because I need to flash my BIOS but I'm terrified I'll frig my puter. This thread shows my problem.
