Why does my wireless connection keep going off?

I have a dell latitude D640 with a D-link wireless card. On a regular basis, my connection is "lost" for about 30 seconds, then seems to work find for several minutes, then is "lost" again... Any clues what can be causing this?

Does it do this no matter what access point you connect to or just one? If it's just one, are there lots of other wireless networks around? How far away are you from the access point?

Possibly anything in the way of the access point. e.g. brick walls.
whats the signal strength? if its "Very Low" then you have a problem. But if its "Very Good, or , Excellent" You're Ok
