Why don't you decide for me

Well. I want to play the new oblivion here and I want it to look as beautiful as it can. Right now i have about 500 dollars to spend on a video card and new psu so seeing as I don't really know a whole lot about say a 7800 gtx versus a 7900 gt. What should i get? I looked at some benchmarks of 7900 gt and 7800 gtx and they seemed to be getting close enough results that I counldn't justify the extra 150 atleast to get the 7800 gtx...and is there some new bad ass card coming out here pretty soon? When is the 8 series coming?

No clue when the 8 series is coming out. I did some quick research on the 7800GTX and 7900GT, and the 7900 is actually a bit better. I don't know if it'd be noticable, or if it'd be better to use the older card as they've had more time to tweak it(though the GTX apparently had a good few problems...)

As for the PSU, I don't know of any good ones right off, just look for ones that have duel rail and at least 36amps total on the 12v rails, and around 400 watts or so. That should be a perfect card for any card, but you might need more juice for SLI
