Why eSATA is SO SLOW?

I finally got the eSATA cable connected to my WD My Book 500GB External HD.

I went to transfer some (test) files and it took about 30 seconds to transfer a little under 1 GB. The specs say up to 3GB per second.... I'm not getting anything near this....

I looked for drivers and did not see any thing pop up....What is going on here?

LOL... this guy's a funny man.

SATA architecture and design CAN transfer data things 3GB/second but the problem with that is that it is limited by the Harddrive speed to like 40mb/second.

SATA is a market scheme.

The only real benefit IDE vs SATA is neater/smaller cable management and higher cache then IDE.

When you buy cable that say 3gb/seconds it means that it supports it, but good luck finding a HD that can utlize even half of that :D
