Why get a 30" Monitor over a 30" TV?

Do monitors give you better clarity? Is there a big screen monitor that dose not have ghosting? I am pretty confused here, I don't whether it is worth it to get a monitor over a TV. Why b/c I don't know what the advantages are of the two products. Any suggestions.

BTW unlimited budget.
 
A 30'' monitor usually would be better for computer gaming becasue you 'usually' have a faster refresh rate
 
Look at the max resolution of the monitor vs. the max resolution of the TV. That'll show any differences in potential picture clarity.

My guess is that the monitor will give you a higher resolution picture and much faster response times.
