Why get a new case?

Look, I know this may seem stupid... but

why should you buy a new case when you have an OEM case that you could reuse?

please don't just be like, "noob buy a new case don't be cheap" I was just wondering what kind of reasoning is behind that statement.

OEM = Mini Tower 99% of the time = half the crap now a days wont fit or will be so scrunched that it will have poor air flow.

Your best off to buy a Full Tower or Mid Tower. It will be able to fit all the items and will last longer on upgrades.

OEM cases have very limited space. And since most of us in here are either gamers or computer enthusiasts, space pretty much ruins the fun if it's too small. Heck, a HD4870X2 might be bigger than an OEM case :P

Also, most of the time, they don't have either the cooling capabilities or the looks that computer geeks like.

PLUS, the I/O panel that comes with your new board probably won't fit
in the OEM case. Mounting holes for the board may not line up either.

Sometimes OEM cases have proprietary measurements that fit only their mainboards. Mainboards and cases are the basic problems with OEM computers because of their proprietary nature. The rest of the parts will be transferrable to a new system. I've got a bunch of old, used HP cases in case you need one.

Some of the cases (not sure about HP) won't allow a PSU transfer either. I had this problem with my Sony Vaio, due to it's proprietary design.
