Why is everything i watch in grey??

Hey every1 i need ur help. For some reason everything i watch on my computer has a tint of grey over it and the colour red and green is really bright. Ive checked the contrast and brightness but this has bin unchanged. Ne suggestions??

what graphics card do you have? if its intergrated, what motherboard do you have? and also what monitor do you have and how old is it?

you might want to also check the display color settings. If everything looks really red and green with a tint of grey it could be possible that someone reduced the blue output and messed with the contrast/brightness of green/red. If there are other people that use that computer it's a possibility. It took me all of 20 seconds to produce an effect on my monitor much like that which you described.

Maybe this?!

I haven't understood exactly from your description what is your current situation. But, maybe it can be caused by bad settings of your desktop. But for one again, this is only relevant if you have "Windows classic theme" active.

Right-click on desktop. Go to "Appearance" tab. If you have "XP style" selected in first popup-list(windows and buttons), then I don't know. But if you have there "Windows classic", your problem can be caused by wrong color scheme selection on the second popup-list(color scheme). In this case select "windows standard" and press "apply".

I hope that this is your problem

Hi junglist, a little more info would help next time.

"Everything you watch" do you mean that this problem only occurs when you open a video in a media player? or is this problem happening to the entire windows desktop?

Which contrast/brightness have you checked??? Did you check the settings of your graphics card. I.e, Display Properties/Setttings/Advanced/etc.. or did you check the actual settings of your Monitor I.e, pressed the little buttons on the frount of your monitor and checked the colour settings etc.?

If it only happens when playing a video, and only to the actual video and not the surounding desktop, then you should check the Media Player's settings I.e, in Windows Media Player you can select "enhancements" from one of the menus, and it will then alow you to adjust the brightness/contrast/colour of the actual video.
