Why is it so?

I use XP pro.Whenever I right click a video file of any format and go to open with tab and click on choose program,instead of box of softwares notepad pops out.Why is this happening?Can anyone tell me the solution?

I googled it and found your answer.
I knew it had to be a registry glitch because I had a similar problem a couple of years ago.

Good. I'm glad because those type of things can be really annoying. I remember in my case it was that whenever I double-clicked to open any file, the search box would open up instead. So, I would have to right-click on the file and choose "open" in order for it to actually open. For some reason the registry had wigged out and a simple registry fix took care of that problem.
