put an image in paint with a resolution of 2304x1728, ctrl+x, cpu goes up to 82% and paint doesn't respond. except about 5 seconds until the operation is complete.

i guess this is expected for an image of such size, but is there any system that would do it as quickly as say.. IE opening? is this more intel territory?

something seems wrong there, if it's the pc in your sig that you're using it should surely do it faster, i haven't got paint so just tried it with fireworks and everything i tried with an image of that resolution was instant, and i would expect fireworks to need more time and my pc is no where near as good as yours, have you got a lot of processes running? any spyware?
