Why is XP more expensive then Vista???

Ok, so I need an OS, and I know Vista isn't really much better the XP (If any), but I want to know, why does pricegrabber come up with 190$ for windows xp home basic, but vista home basic is around 130$? And I mean, Full package (not upgrade), 32-bit, and not OEM.

Examples:

Windows XP:

Thanks, I'm really confused as to why Vista is so much cheaper.
 
I thought I didn't want OEM, but I really don't know what that is. I thought it meant it was pre-used or something, but I don't think that's right. What does OEM mean? And for that cheap, I think I'll go with 64-bit.

No fancy box or manual, if you get the System Builders Edition its tied to the computer its installed on.

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. If you decide to go with a 64-bit operating system be sure you get atleast 4 gigabytes of Random Access Memory. 64-bit Vista and 64-bit Windows XP are memory hogs.

Windows XP is tried and tested, and is (by Windows standards) very stable. Vista was released before it's time (and very late, oddly enough) and as many people are finding out, has much more quirks than originally thought. Companies saw the trend over a period of a few months, and realized that XP was still going to be the OS of choice for some time to come, and readjusted their prices to reflect the market share that it still commanded. it seems people still view XP as more composed (if not slightly more rigid) and stable, while they look at Vista as being very pretty and charming , but not quite as civilized as the previous version.

Incidentally, 32-bit vs. 64-bit almost exactly mirrors the above paragraph. 64-bit *is* the future, but for now 32-bit has been around long enough to have every quirk worked out and provides a smoother system for the average to slightly above-average user experience.
 
I think XP is better than Vista anyway. I heard shops are beginning to sell computers with XP on them rather than Vista. Vista, IMO, is XP with better graphics.
