why isnt this cpu working?

hi all, i have an acer aspire with a centrino due 1.66 t2300...
today i tried swapping with a t5250 2.2 duo from a hp pavillion and the laptop turns on and then shuts down?? why is this as it fits perfectly? how do i know what cpu's would be compatible?i am unsure of the motherboard but its an aspire 5672.

also what is the best software to slowdown and manage the cpu as i dont know how to overclock via bios,i cant find anyway how to...
 
maybe the bios doesn't recognize the cpuid from the chip. have you checked to see if your particular laptop/bios revision would even support a t5xxx processor?
