Why the Price difference?

These processors are almost identical expect the second has slightly better specs but the one that appears to be worse is priced higher. Why is this?

The 6750 has a faster FSB. So many of the older motherboards will not support it, So the demand for the 6600 is higher because it will run on older motherboards.

The 6750 is the better CPU. If your motherboard will support the faster FSB then get it.

the 6600 is the old processor. don't get it. the 6x50 are the new intel c2ds.

they stopped makign the E6600...so its jacked up in price...sure some people'd mobos cannot handle 1333mhz...for come on...a decent board is like 80 bucks. Its simply because they ceased making them.

But dont most boards underclock the 6750 if they cant support the higher fsb?

that would certainly be the case, but most mobos that support c2ds support 1333mhz fsb also.
