Why won't app load from copied install disk files?

I've been copying all my install disks to h/d to archive the whole bunch on a blu-ray disk. I notice one in particular SoundeForge 8 won't initiate from the copied files on the h/d. I click setup.exe and it says "Unable to run autoplay program". Most apps will do this no problem.

Any idea why this is?

Have you tried redownloading the program in the case if the "setup.exe" file is damaged?

Also some programs have AUTOPLAY file (which actually starts the setup) and SETUP file (the main application installer) separated so in the case if you are trying to run the AUTOPLAY,try running the SETUP directly.

One more thing...

If you have tryed copying the files of INSTALLED program from one computer to another, the application will probably not work properly or it won't work at all since all the registry settings will be missing.Of course not all program store all their settings in the registry only...

Have you tryed to install it from that disk on another computer?

Also can the files from that disk be copied WITHOUT ANY ERRORS on the computer?
Because if they can't then some of the file(s) may be damaged and that could cause your problem...

Also do you have program called "Xplay" by Mediafour installed?
If yes, uninstall it completely then restart the computer and the AUTOPLAY should work...
