Have jus installed new graphics card. working fine but now sometimes wen im playin games, it just freezes. It never used to do that. whats going on?

What do you mean by freeze? Does it stop at that frame and stay there, or does it crash back to the desktop, or does it go to the blue screen of death or just restarts.

The whole system freezes i have to turn off my computer. the specs are:

6.8ghz dual core processor,
1Gb of RAM,
80GB hard drive

First off, you dont have a 6.8Ghz dual-core processor. You have a 3.4Ghz Pentium D.

What video card did you install? Some require an additional power adapter(s) to be connected to the card, otherwise it wont run well. And speaking of power, your PSU may not be able to support the card you added. What video card is it exactly? And do you know how many watts your power supply is?

and do you know how many 12v rails you have and how many amps on each one?

Alright, so we know the video card is a low-end card and it doesnt require any external power connectors, but the PSU could still be the problem. Do you know what type/size yours is?

half life 2/cs source mostly. it plays well but after about 10 mins of gameplay, it just freezes. so frustrating:mad:
what shall i do?

Well it may not even be video card related. Perhaps the processor is overheating. Is the computer a custom built or is it a prebuilt like a Dell, HP, etc?

custom built. i think it is video card related as it did not happen before i upgraded my video card.
