Wi Fi Connection Problem

Recently moved to a new place where my house mate has broadband and wifi.

I cannot connect- even with the WEP key.

Any advice would be welcome.

I've been through the "add a new computer" wizards- no luck.

if you cant connect you probally have the wrong WEP key, what OS are you using? are you using third party software for the wireless?

Try using the windows Zero Configuration, rather than a 3rd party app as most of them are dodgy and leak memory all over the place.

Also, reset the router and try again.

By the way, you shouldn't even be using wep. it's easy to crack, and takes less than 10 minutes. You should at least use WPA-PSK or ideally WPA2-PSK for security.

very true

did you get it working?

I think I have to add my computer to the network- I tryed the obvious methods.

I'll try the zero config(once I figure out what that is).

Thanks
