Hello
I have a new wide screen on an older PC and things are out of proportion as in pics are wider and squares are rectangles. I tried all the resolutions.
Is there a way to correct this?
Thanks
Rob

You have to use a widescreen res.. like 1400x1050 or 1920x1080. Can you choose a resolution like that?

Most widescreen computer monitors are 16:10, not 16:9. As such, the resolutions you noted above will not be listed in Windows as a supported resolution.

The following are resolutions that are in 16:10 format, although 1440x900 is somewhat of a standard.

1280x800
1440x900
1680x1050
1920x1200
2560x1600
3840x2400
5120x3200
7680x4800

The only exception to this in regards to computers is when using a widescreen television as a computer monitor...that will be in 16:9.

Robbb: your computer should support 1440x900, and you should be able to set your monitor to that resolution.

maybe you should download the newest drivers for your grafic's card, seeing you said its an older pc, it might be that the drivers dont support the widescreen resolutions yet, since in that time there wernt widescreens around yet :) (not saying thats it for sure ofc, but its worth a shot I gues)
