Personally, I'm still more of a fan of non-widescreen monitors. A fair majority of them are still around the 1280x800 range (maybe higher, but still about the same) so you really get less than with a typical 1280x1024 screen. And then I feel anything higher just throws everything off, seeing as most webpages and all aren't viewed quite right at resolutions higer than 1280 in width...

Eh... but that's my view on the it. I guess it's really down to personal opinions, and what the market has to offer. It seems almost every monitor today is widescreen... I shall hoard all my old 3:2 screens!

i prefer widescreen....i gues because my first LCD was widescreen, and i got used to it.

Oh definitely widescreen, I can't Imagen using standard aspect again, it just looks weird and stretched.

when i look at the widescreens i just see distortion, i feel they not "normal"

But to each his own and what the used to

i prfer normal 19 inch (cheaper, no need for a even better GPU as the res is only 1280x1024)

I suppose a good advantage of having a widescreen is you can always have a sidebar present and then it will squash the aspect ratio back to a normal screen :D

Hmm im having the same tread not long ago, confuse what to have a normal or widescreen.
Many member suggest a widescreen over normal so i think it shouldn't hurt to tried those.
Now im just confuse what brand should i take for a 19' lcd, i had asus lcd in my mind, anyone ever experience asus lcd before?
