Widescreen Monitors - Question

HEy :cool:

probably a stupid question, but what happenes when you play a normal game on a widescreen monitor? does it get distorted or just center itself in the middle of the screen? I've been told that some games adapt to the format, but i dont think this happens for all games, does it? :confused:
 
I think you have to edit the video options. You should be able to select the proper screen resolution.
 
This is a purly a question out of curiosity. I am looking into buying a widescreen monitor and was wondering about the affect it would have on some of my older and my newer games. :)
 
Well you can always use the vertical/horizontal size adjustments :P Honestly i dunno, never liked widescreen
