Widescreen

Pro:
Great for movies and games that support these resolutions.

Cons:
Less screen area per inch
Many games not optimised for widescreen resolutions (the image just gets stretched).

Anyone got any others to add?

well a con is that they just look cooler than standard 4:3 monitors. a con is that they usually are more expensive

Looks like you're going to be gaming. A lot of later games support widescreen resolutions, and it's great to play on. You're able to see a lot more. I'd say go for it if it's not outlandishly more expensive.

If you are looking for a widesceene, there is a nice 20.1 inch lcd display monitor with built in speakers, which if im right you did not mention in that list of stuff. Heres the link to it at tiger direct

Well right now I am using a 15" 4:3 LCD on my lappy and a 19" 4:3 CRT flat on my desktop. Yesterday I was at the store checking out new laptops, and I could not find one that wasn't widescreen. Looking at a widescreen when you are used to a regular monitor takes a lot of getting used to. But you can also have more programs side by side. I think that I will get used to it and eventually like the widescreen monitors, because they seem to be taking over the laptop market, if not also the desktop market.
