Wierd Internet Connection

I am connecting 2 comps to a tiscali broadband connection, they aint networked so only one can be used at a time. Today im having probs, it wont connect to the web, the status of the connection keeps going from red (not connected), to yellow (connection...) back to red, after a minute or so it says something about a program using up all the bandwidth. Occassionally it will put me on but ALL web pages say server cant find it.
I have tried reinstalling tiscali, reinstalling the modem, restarting computer. It does the same on both computers using it. Now, i am using the 3rd computer that rarely used to access web and it worked perfect. Could it be a virus or something, but one out of the 2 comps have uptodate firewall and anti-virus, whilst the other has an anti-virus.
Can somebody help as this is really p***ing me of now.

thanks

I can now access it on 2/3 comps. I phone tiscali who pinged my the comp which is still having probs and they said something was blocking it such as firewall which is not on that comp, i know thats very stupid. I recently downloaded spy ware killer for it and there was tonnnes which makes me think its just that computer infected.
It has AVG, what other software can you recommend? this is if you agree with my opinion.

theres nothing wrong with avg, i use it. if tiscali said it was a problem with a firewall, have you checked to see if windows firewall is active. if so turn it off

I know its nothing wrong with AVG.
I have checked to see if windows firewall is on but its not. All computers but that now work. I am not sure what to do or how to solve it. This comp never had a firewall so could that be anything.

has the one that doesnt work, ever worked with the modem. have you tries re installing the drivers for the modem on the computer.

hmmm.... the only thing i can think of, which probably isnt the smartest idea, but i do all the time if i get a problem is to re install windows, back everything up first though.
