Wierd problems?! HP DV6000

well for some odd reason my computer has been doing some odd things lately
I have FIOS internet btw.
*The LAN symbol at the bottom left says im not connected to a network, it shows the Red X and i really am connected! Only happens sometimes
*The battery indicator shows a dead battery and when you hover over it, it shows 100% (sometimes)
*All of the logo's on the start menu, like Windows Messenger, the two faces. Those logo's are all mixed up, for example the windows messenger logo will be on mixed with the notepad logo.

Very odd.
any ideas?

So all the icons look correct but are simply for the wrong thing? I know sometimes with hardware issues, icons can get jumbled and even mixed up.

The last machine I saw do something similar to that (icons were jumbled, some were mixed up) had a hardware issue. It never gave me any problems besides that, but even after I reloaded windows, the problem persisted.

If I were you, I'd try to reload the computer if at all possible. Or at least reload drivers, perhaps even go back a few days in System Restore.
