Wifes computer slow

My wifes was watching emailed videos and all of a sudden media player flips out. it looked as if the computer was tabing from one application to another and would slow down almost lockup. she was running XP home SP2

I reinstalled windows back to factory defaults with the HP recover program
and it was still the same, I removed her Nvidia card and Media player works
but the system craws, I have ran the scanners listed in the sticky post on this forum and also have ran AVG and Avest and all show to be clean.

Im posting this for some help before i start looking at hardware and do a hardcore reformat.

Can you psot an updated log of Hijacthis?

PS: I'm a beginner at this. Just to let you know.

I'm not into this either but it seems you have two anti virus programs installed or starting.

AVG and Norton, this is a complete no no.
 
yea nortons is not installed its is just whats left over for the uninstall, even if i shut them all down it still runs like crap,
I understand that when you do a system restore from HP or Dell there is s file somewhere that store info from previous restores that will slow the system down, and i have ran system restore on this pc more then a dozen times
and it seems to run slower and slower each time. I am going to wipe the HDD
and do a fresh install with my windows CD.
 
I know what you mean, it's the only way to get rid of the dregs that hang in their. Best of luck with the re-install.
