WiFi Extender questions

It's been years since I looked into the extender option. I bought one years (5-7) ago and it came with two units of the TP-Link TL-PA4010. One plugged into the wall connect the router making every AC outlet a connecting point. I plugged the other unit into the wall in my living room and connect my TV to it with an ethernet cable.

That doesn't extend the WiFi. In order to boost the WiFi signal in the far corner of my house, I have a DAP-1520 plugged to an AC outlet and it strenghtens the signal.

Does the DAP-1520 operates on its own?

Are the 2 TP-Link TL-PA4010 strictly for wired operation (which is good for streaming)?

Is the DAP-1520 just like the newer model TP-Link AC750 WiFi Extender?

The TL-PA4010 is a powerline adapter for wired connections to other rooms through the electrical circuit in your home. The DAP-1520 is an actual wireless extender. And yes it operates on its own.

If you have good speed and no issues then it should be fine.

There are few different versions of the ac750 wifi extender.
