Hi,

I have just rented a desk in an office and I’m trying to connect to the wifi hot spot that’s there. I can connect to it with my phone, ipad and Acer net book however when i try to connect using my Aspire 6930 it starts to connect then says, This computer is connected to (Routers name) but dose not have access to the internet. If you are connecting to a wireless hotspot, you might need to open a web browser to finish connecting...... when i open my browser it should load the login screen to the wifi hotspot but doesn’t??? I have tried with deferent browsers, updated my wifi drivers but nothing works???? Please it would be so helpful if you guys have any ideas???

Thanks.

Have you tried deleting the wireless connection for the hotspot and then reset it back up?

If you run Vista or Windows 7 go into the network and sharing center, on the left hand side click on where it says manage wireless connections and remove the existing connection. Then set it back up. If xp the procedure is a little different, not at my computer right now so can't give you the procedure for it.

sadly it dosnt show up, i guess because it dosnt finish connecting as i cant get the landing login page to show in my web browser? in the bottom right of the computer screen i see the yellow shield so its half connected?

It will still show up if its a wifi connection. Open a command prompt and type ipconfig /all and hit enter and see if you are getting an IP address and dns servers assigned.
