Wifi

I just got a new laptop and I wanna use the dsl connection in my house, but I dont know the "security key" (password). How can I access this?

Also, I noticed that I was able to go online through another connection (linksys) which is probably an unprotected connection from one of my neighbors. So how can I protect my network from intruders or people trying to use my connection. Before you flame me, I wasn't aware I was using my neighbors.

At this point, my connection at home is "secure" but I would like to change the default password to something a little less hackable or w/e. So basically I need the security key so I can access the internet and so I can change it from default and protect my system. Now, where do you I find this info so I can change it?

did you already enabled wireless? find out what wifi is it useing wep,wpa or whatever and you will need to know the password or you will need to reset the router and put in your own.

see if one of thoughs work if you cant find it. also for encryption use WPA. WEP can be hacked by a pro in about 60 sec. WPA is newer and uses much better encryption. (also use WPA-PSK oe WPA pre shared key unless you own a radius server)
