Will 16gb RAM do more for me?

I have a 64bit OS windows 7. I have 8gb right now (turns out my memory is bad so I have to purchase new ones), and I was just curious if I put 16gb in it, if that's gonna do anything more?

Unless you're using memory intensive apps (video processing, etc.) it won't make any difference.

Well would you consider World of Warcraft intensive? On ultra graphics. I'm seeing the pricing go from 8gb at like 45 bucks to 16gb which is like 150 and up, so i'm not thinking it's worth it haha. How do you like your G Skill btw? I'm looking into purchasing new memory and the only ones with their own heat sync on new egg are G Skill, Crucial, Corsair (which I have now, but they crapped out on me), and Pareema. Any of those good?

For games, nothing will use more than 8GB of RAM. G.Skill is my favorite brand, as of many people on this forum. Corsair would be my second choice.

No, WoW isn't that intensive. As voyagerfan99 said, there aren't a lot of cases where you'd need that much RAM.

As others said, 8GB would be plenty for most anything besides video processing stuff. The only other possible reasons where it might be nice to have 16GB would be if you're multitasking among certain memory-intensive tasks, or if you would like to either turn off virtual memory entirely or drastically reduce it.
