Will Average User Like Myself Notice Difference Between Core 3, Core 5 & Core 7?

I'm going to be buying a Second computer for my den in January, probably a desktop as I have a nice monitor from a previous computer & I was wondering if an average Windows 7 user like myself will notice any difference between a core 3, core 5 and core 7 computer. I don't do any graphics work and basically use the computer for the internet, downloading music & videos, word processing, the usual average stuff. Assume my memory is 8gb RAM.

If I actually notice the computer doing things faster yeah I may get a Core 5 or even core 7. Do you think this is a waste of money for someone like myself who
is an average computer user or will I notice differences. If so how noticeable? Thanks for your input.

No, even an AMD dual-core would be just as efficient for your uses. But out of those, an i3 would be plenty fast.

Agreed with the above. You can always upgrade to an i5 or i7 later if you find yourself needing more grunt.

But for your uses, the i3 is fine. Its faster than all of the AMD varieties and is cheap.

However if you want HD playback and you are not planning on getting a discrete graphics card, then a AMD A8-3850 which has better onboard graphics.

If you don't require HD movies, video conversion etc, then the i3 intel path is best simply because of the upgradability not found in the AMD catalouge at the moment.
