Will changing resolution damage monitor

I use a Samsung 28” HDTV as my computer display monitor. Its native resolution is

1366 X 768 at 60Hz.

My desktop computer’s AMD HD7750 graphic card will provide up to 1920X1080 resolution.

If I raise the Samsung’s resolution from its native level upwards, will this damage the Samsung HDTV?

You can't raise the resolution above what the monitor/TV is capable of. You will simply get a black screen with an error.

I appreciate your response.

Out of curiosity, I rechecked the Samsung HDTV specs and found that its native resolution is indeed 1366 X 768. I then checked the specs for the HD7750 graphics card. It showed the top resolution at 1920 X 1080.

I next went into the section of Windows 10 that allows for the change of resolution and found that I could adjust upwards from the native 15 X 768 to 1920 X 1080. HOWEVER, when I tried to do this, the highest resolution that I could achieve is 1600 X900.

I authenticated that is was the resolution that I got using Speecy and then seeing the text on the screen after booting the computer.

I did not get a black screen.

Now, I know that I can change the resolution BUT, I still do not know if by doing so the Samsung HDTV will be damaged by upping its native resolution.
